China - Dalian is a city which is increasingly becoming recognized by the international fashion
industry. Spearheaded by the annual China (Dalian) International Garment Textile Fair, Dalian
is not only the preeminent fashion industry hub in Northeast Asia but is also an extremely imp-
ortant channel between China and the international fashion community.
In 2006 with approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the China National Textile Indu-
stry Council and Dalian Municipal People's Government, Dalian Fashion Festival became a na-
tionally recognized international exhibition β CIGF, which has become a hugely important platf-
orm for international brands seeking to enter the Chinese market and for domestic brands se-
eking to expand overseas.
